Aerocool X-Predator II Full Tower Chassis Review

Admin Chassis 2322

Moving to the main internals, the Aerocool X-Predator II has a lot of internal space, with most of the drive bays removable, you’ll be able to free up even more space if you need. All of the edges and openings are smooth or sporting a rubber grommet and the CPU opening is large enough if you need to use it.

There are no discrete SSD mounting points, we have seen the trend to include these behind the motherboard increase over the past couple of years, the X-Predator II doesn’t have any. The 3.5″ inch drive bays can also mount the 2.5″ inch SSDs if required.

The front panel was easily removed, however the top panel was a little more stubborn. We managed to remove the top panel in the end, needing a little more effort than most chassis. In the end, the tight fit was down to some strong pop joints, which also contributed to the solid feel of the chassis externally. As you can see, there are a lot of cables, so you will need your best cable management skills at the ready with this chassis.

There is only one other thing we didn't quite like and that was the cables for the top I/O panel, there’s a lot and we think Aerocool have done a good job bunching them all together, it will take a little more time than normal to route them as you want. Once done, at least for us, we could forget about them and enjoy the chassis and the benefits the top I/O panel provides.
