Scythe Ninja 4 SCNJ-4000 CPU Cooler Review

The heatsink base has mounting notches that will also act as a simple heatsink too, providing a little better heat dissipation on the base, albeit completely passive.  The GlideStream 120 PWM fan has special fan blades in order to keep air resistance to a minimum, the fan blades have been fitted with grooves.

The fan also has an “Anti-Vibration-System” meaning the mounting holes fitted with rubber inlays to keep vibration noise at a minimum.

This is where the fan gets more interesting. The GlideStream 120 PWM fan has the ability to adjust the maximum fan speed in 3 settings via a slide switch, allowing the user to choose between extremely silent operation or maximum cooling power. We could argue that this is going to be hidden away but for people who can use it, it’s going to be a quick and easy way to manage sound and heat performance.

We have no issues with the Scythe Ninja 4, it's a good traditional CPU cooler with some decent refinements. As with any test using default fan profiles and letting the hardware do the talking, you'll need to understand the Scythe Ninja 4 position in the charts is an "out of the box" view. We think the cooler has a lot of potential and we don't think it would take a lot of effort.
