Next to the RX 480s siblings and the MSI Nvidia GTX 970 Twin Frozr V, it is a little shorter and in the case of the GTX 970, a little narrower too.
AMD seem to be really trying to reduce the power consumption and size of their GPU releases. A couple of RX 480’s in a water cooling loop would give you back a couple of inches in airflow around the chassis, just like the R9 Nano. A well sized compact card that could be a good mATX build choice too. The Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 480 8Gb only has one UEFI BIOS inline with the reference cards.

AMD are excellent at aggressive price campaigns in general and against Nvidia, and the RX 480 is no different. It is cheaper than the R9 390X when it launched by some margin. The question remains as it did when we reviewed the XFX Radeon R9 390X 8GB DD Black Edition, should you upgrade. The answer this time is yes, for the price point, the modern revisions including FinFET 14 process technology, it’s got potential, features and value. The Nvidia GTX 1080 is just over twice the price, the RX 480 isn’t always half as fast.
