Test Set Up
We are using an open case test rig so other than the temperature of the room, we shouldn’t see any heat issues affecting the performance. You may say that’s not real world but this is about the cards performance exclusively.

All updates to the Operating System and games and Synthetic benchmarks are assumed and a full defrag on the SSD after a fresh install before any benchies are carried out. Today we are using the WHQL 340.52 Forceware drivers for all tests which are the latest WHQL drivers at the time of writing.
The High and Low Quality driver settings are as follows
The synthetic tests consist of the following
- Unigine Heaven 4.0
- 3D Mark
We ran each synthetic test three times and took the highest result, we ran each on low and high quality settings.
Gaming tests consist of
- Battlefield 4
- Watch_Dogs
We ran these benchmarks twice over 6 minutes, we ran each on low and high quality settings and compared both runs. 3D Mark first then Unigine Heaven.
Next, the real life gaming tests. First up, Battlefield 4
Battlefield performs well, never dipping below 30 FPS in real life gaming at maxxed out settings, both in driver and game and at a resolution of 2048 X 1152, impressive.

Overall we think this is an excellent card for the price, and although with the NVidia 8xx GTX (or 9xx GTX) just around the corner we don’t really see a reason to run out and upgrade if you had a card like this. This is the main conclusion we came too after running and reviewing this card. There is always a sweet spot card, CPU or even memory in a product range.
