Shuttle NC01U Series Nano Barebone PC Review

Right, so what do you get? An external PSU, mounting plates and the NC01U. We need to mention this, the packaging is our preferred non-static variety. Call us picky, we just don’t like to generate static at most points in the day and the Shuttle foam helps us do just that!

Here it is, and it’s shiny. This is going to be a fingerprint magnet, so be warned. If you are as OCD as us, you will be polishing a lot!

Plenty of I/O ports are included, two USB 3.0 ports and a SD card reader. You also have a further two USB 2.0 ports,  one HDMI port and a mini DisplayPort.

You will also get an Ethernet port, headphone and mic jack and a Kensington Lock.

Overall it’s a nice and shiny little PC in a box, a very small box, 141(L) x 141(W) x 29(H) mm to be exact. With its VESA mounting and expandability, it’s looking good so far.

Call us optimistic and positive people but we really liked it. The VESA mounting capability means you can hide this away and have a very clean set up. The Wi-Fi and wired connections allow you to put this anywhere, give or take a couple of situations. The SSD support and the 8Gb RAM coupled with an Intel Broadwell U CPU means as long as you are not gaming or Photo shopping, it’s an excellent office or web micro PC.
