Fitting

Installing the Raijintek Themis CPU Cooler wasn’t hard at all. You need to remove the fan and screw the heatsink in place. It doesn’t have access issues and it doesn’t clash with the surrounding motherboard and memory. We can’t really say much more about it, it was trouble-free.

BIOS Setting

We used the default PWM setting and left it alone!

Sound Level Testing

We used a standard generic digital sound level meter at 15 inches. It is important to note we used the MicroCool Banchetto 101 Chassis for testing which is an open chassis. This means you are hearing the CPU coolers fan unobstructed.

Thermal Paste

We use Arctic MX-2 for all heatsink cooler tests and in fact we use it for all builds, test or otherwise. We run the AIDA64 Extreme stability test as our burn in programme for thermal paste, which allows the paste to spread out and share the love across the mating surfaces. It is worth doing, we noted a drop in throttling after 30 minutes of burn in, and we don’t like throttling!

Results

First, the stock run; The CPU is reported at the turbo speed which is correct,  but it’s stock set up to test the Raijintek Themis CPU Cooler under normal conditions.

With AIDA64 Extreme stability test for 30 minutes the Raijintek Themis managed to peak at 67C°. We had no throttling during this test and with an open chassis it didn’t present much of an issue.

Sound levels remained respectable throughout. Though a high-end system for a little cooler, you’ll more than get by with this type of performance.

Package - 8.5
Performance - 8.8

9.1

You can do all this for under £20 and give many of its mainstream competitors at more than double the price, something to think about. If you want big block CPU cooler performance at half the price, this may be for you. From a consumer experience point of view, there isn't anything that bad about this cooler and at the current price, you would be foolish to overlook the Raijintek Themis CPU Cooler as an option for your build.
