Excellent Single and Double Precision performances, seems the R9 2xx family is good on paper at least.
The impressive performance continues on with Julia, and Mandel results are excellent. Again, nearly doubling the performance compared to the PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 770 and MSI GTX 970 GAMING Twin Frozr V for Mandel results.
Next 3DMark, and with good results for all but Ice Storm, it is a strong performance from the Sapphire card.
Next, gaming results and for all gaming results we maxxed the driver settings and the game settings.
With Battlefield 4 we see good results, however with a GTX970, you will see around a 15% increase in overall performance, so though not bad, there are more optimised cards than the R9 290X out there.

If you don't want to spend money on the new R9 390X and you are upgrading, this will also be a fantastic card, but we cannot help feel as though we are left a little disappointed with this card. Why? We didn't really see the card utilized apart from the synthetic tests and we also feel the drivers are still a little behind the hardware, both down to AMD, not Sapphire.
