Quarter by Quarter
Our usual quarter by quarter look at the layout. We do not see any major issues, though the CPU fan header is a little out on the edge, so your cabling may be exposed and the chassis fan header is completely on its own, like a desert island. You have two PWM fan headers in total which aren’t many.
There’s simple and clean Aluminum Alloy Heat sinks helping with MOSFET and chipset cooling, though it may hinder a decent overclock if there are thermal hotspots. Passive coolers are the norm, but serious overclocking would normally go down the active cooling road.
ASRock Z270 Pro4 Motherboard Review
Package - 7
Performance - 8
Price - 7.5

We bought the ASRock Z270 Pro4 for a project before the Z370 CPU upgrade fiasco happened. It's working as planned and it's got a 7700K installed and the owner is very happy. We persevered with the review because it's a good motherboard, and the only element that makes it last generation is the CPU. It's a modern Z270 chipset motherboard with a couple of throwbacks to yesteryears, such as the PCI slot, and a VGA graphics port.
