Admin Surfaces 1333

Gaming Pad

The surface is more than just a surface, at least if you have an ordinary or moderate desk space to use it on. We are not sure on the thinking behind this but from the internet and trials we have carried out, it seems the best way to use a surface of this size is to put your keyboard and mouse on it.

The surface is a bit like a cross between the Razer Goliathus Speed Fragged Gaming Pad and the Cooler Master Storm Speed-RX Surface we have reviewed previously. It’s a large and thinner construction but without the woven edge of the Razer but with the manufacturing of the Cooler Master, albeit a couple of millimetres thinner. It is 3mm thick, the same as the Razer Goliathus Speed Fragged Gaming Pad. This makes it only usable on a hard and flat surface, something smaller and thicker surfaces manage, but are just about able to work on your lap or other soft surfaces.

The surface is smooth and inviting though not as fine a weave as the Cooler Master and overall gives a feeling and feedback just like the Razer. This is not a criticism, we love the Razer, and it’s got its qualities with very little drawbacks other than the price.

The underside is very well patterned, a nice grip which is welcome. At this size any movement or slip on the real-life desktop would be catastrophic, defeating the point of a solid and secure gaming surface in one slip.

From a technology point of view, this is a nice and well thought out and made surface, but that’s not its main selling point. The surface cures issues with a surface being too small or too large by just simply being oversized.
