Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Red DDR4 2666Mhz Memory Kit Review

19th March 2017 439 Like

We have had a lot of Ballistix’s DDR4 memory in the Hardwareslave offices to review over the years, and we get good performance, speeds, and compatibility. These memory modules have been black, grey or silver, but now we have some nice shiny red DIMMs to test. Fair enough, a red memory heatsink will not make the memory any faster, but with one of the most common system colours available from Ballistix, you know they should have colour to match most systems.

Arctic Freezer i32 Semi Passive CPU Cooler Review

31st January 2017 483 Like

Our first CPU cooler review of 2017 and it’s the Arctic Freezer i32. The Arctic Freezer i32 is based on the Arctic Freezer i30, but Arctic state the i32 has several feature improvements that boost performance and reduce noise. Arctic have been around the PC and system builder’s scene for a very long time. In fact, we use Arctic MX2 for all our CPU cooler reviews just because we have used Arctic thermal paste for a very long time and trust it. We know what it is capable of and we know they know their thermal paste.

Ballistix Elite 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz Memory Kit Review

3rd January 2017 413 Like

We wrote some time ago when we first started to test DDR4 memory that it wouldn’t be long before DDR4 memory speeds would have a 1:1 speed ratio with the CPU. Well, it didn’t take long at all and we have seen these speeds for the last 12 months at least. It may be a throwback to the days of the FSB, but it was always a goal to have 1:1 CPU/memory speeds, however unachievable.

Phononic HEX 2.0 Thermoelectric CPU Cooler Review

29th September 2016 618 Like

You have probably seen some of the news around the internet about the Phononic HEX 2.0 CPU cooler. We spotted it a while ago and from a cooler point of view at least, this really did spark our interest. We were lucky enough to catch up with some of the guys at Phononic and they sent us over a sample to test. We are familiar with the background technology; Peltier extreme CPU coolers have been dabbled in for some time. In the past they generally were for the extreme overclockers, before things like dry ice cooling pushed Peltier into obscurity. It was also a cumbersome technology, not to say that dry ice wasn’t, but it always seems like an expensive compromise and only for the dedicated few.

Scythe SCFM-1000 Fuma CPU Cooler Review

30th August 2016 504 Like

We have the Scythe Fuma for review today, a CPU cooler Scythe claim to be a smaller CPU cooler without “sacrificing performance”. The Fuma can be traced back to the Scythe Mine 2 CPU Cooler, with development in two main areas, base plate design and fin structures. We know the Mine 2 and it works well, though it’s now an older generation of cooler. Moving on to the Fuma, Scythe have also included a pair of Slip Stream series fans to help move the warm air away from the Twin-Tower design heatsink.

Scythe Ninja 4 SCNJ-4000 CPU Cooler Review

21st August 2016 704 Like

Scythe, most people will know them. In case you don’t, Scythe have been around for years and they have a notable reputation in cooling, that means sites like Hardwareslave, will always take note of their products. We have a couple of coolers coming in the next couple of weeks and we start with the Scythe Ninja 4. We recently reviewed the Scythe Grand Kama Cross 3 and last year we tested the Scythe Mugen MAX. Both scored well and we were happy to see Scythe still around after all these years.

Phanteks PH-TC14S CPU Cooler Review

5th July 2016 373 Like

We reviewed the Phanteks PH-TC12LS CPU Cooler and liked it. It has some good qualities at a good price and will give the owners of small form factor systems another good option for cooling their CPUs. We also received the Phanteks PH-TC14S CPU Cooler at the same time and have reviewed them pretty much back to back.

Phanteks PH-TC12LS CPU Cooler Review

4th July 2016 962 Like

Phanteks are probably more known for their PC chassis than for anything else, including their coolers. Phanteks have an extensive range of chassis and accessories for their chassis including a range of fans. The Phanteks Evolv is probably one of the most recognised chassis out there, and still gets a lot of coverage. If you look at the Phanteks site, they do have a range of CPU coolers, enough of them to get any system builder going.
