Metallicgear Neo Micro ATX Mid-Tower Chassis Review

30th April 2019 1054 Like

MetallicGear is a sub-brand of Phanteks so you may have heard of them, but you'll most likely know Phanteks. Sub-brands are popular for a number of reasons, including expanding a market share, breaking out of a stereotype, research and development, or possibly an acquisition. Phanteks are an award-winning company so they will know a thing or two about design and what a good chassis looks like.

Anidees AI5S Windowed Mid-Tower Chassis Review

25th June 2017 483 Like

We’ve had a couple of Anidees chassis here at Hardwareslave for review in the past, and we really liked them. We are not just saying that because we receive review samples, but because of a couple of reasons, one of which is specific to the chassis we are reviewing today. Firstly, Anidees actively listen to feedback from enthusiasts, so, your idea may end up in a future product. Secondly, the AI5S chassis is a good example of the types of design they release. There’s no optical bay, so no cluttered front panel, and there isn’t even a space for it behind the front panel, so the chassis can fill itself with more important things, like radiators, fans, and high-end components.

Lian Li Pitstop PC-T60A Open Air Test Bench Review

5th October 2016 699 Like

We’ve got a few semi-dedicated test systems in the office and a dedicated test bench, the MicroCool Banchetto 101 chassis. So, we swap components a lot if we want to use the Banchetto 101 chassis for any sort of sustained testing, like motherboard reviews. We have been finding a need for a completely dedicated test bench, enter the Lian Li Pitstop PC-T60A. Smaller than the Banchetto 101 chassis and only supporting mATX/ATX motherboards but supporting the same idea, an open air, configuration and accessible test chassis, designed for people who will always be swapping, testing and running PC components.

Lian-Li PC-K5WX Ebonsteel Mid Tower Chassis Review

1st October 2016 559 Like

We have a couple of Lian-Li chassis to review over the next week and they are both very different. Coming shortly, we’ll have the PC-T60 Test Bench which is a typical Lian-Li chassis, at least in materials used. In today’s review, we will concentrate on the Lian-Li PC-K5 Ebonsteel Mid Tower chassis, which is a very different Lian-Li chassis when compared to the history of their chassis releases, it’s an all steel chassis, for the first time. Lian-Li are not scrapping their aluminium range and going for steel materials, but instead aiming this steel range of chassis at budget system builders, even Lian-Li’s information on this series states “Steel Cases, Lian Li Quality, Excellent Value”.

We haven’t reviewed an Aerocool chassis in some time, and we had a favourable experience with their products in the past, so we were happy to receive the Aerocool X-Predator II full tower chassis for review. The Aerocool X-Predator II is a large chassis, it’s also going to accommodate the E-ATX motherboards out there, such as the Asus Rampage Extreme V for example.

Anidees AI7 Black Cube Chassis Review

27th June 2016 485 Like

We reviewed the Anidees AI8 last week and it’s a stellar chassis, excellent for water cooling or anything else you want to put into an unobstructed internal space. Also, what looks to be a genuine principle of end-user feedback to help and evolve Anidees product range, means if you pick these guys up and become a brand fan, you may end up with some class leading products in the not too distant future.

You may have seen it all before, but if you haven’t, there are a lot of computer chassis out there, so which one do you pick? Firstly, you need to forget about your mates, or the flamers and trollers. For the latter groups, they are right about everything, so no matter what you do, it’s wrong. So where does this leave you? Requirements, including budget and style preferences.

Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 Rev.B Chassis Review

4th November 2015 453 Like

Nanoxia are a name you should know, and their Deep Silence chassis already has a following out there in modders land. With that said, it’s hard for a designer and manufacturer of system chassis and other cooling components to make a name for themselves in the shadow of the mainstream corporations.

Silverstone Tundra TD02-E Watercooler Review

Performance cooling can be separated into two segments, air and water. On the air side we have some very impressive heatsinks dominated by dual cooling towers and fan sizes around 140mm. The reason for this is to both increase performance...
