Conclusion

The Ballistix Elite 3466 MHz DDR4 Memory Kit has some mixed results, but mostly, there’s a decent amount of “Wow” factor surrounding this DDR4 Kit. It’s super fast, mostly, looks amazing and at 32Gb, it’s probably the new standard in size for any serious enthusiast. We’ve had a couple of strange results from our test setup, but we suspect this is more around our expectations than anything else.

We also tested the memory on a couple of different chipsets, including an X99, and we found this memory extremely stable and easy to set up, on all but X99 motherboards. We know that’s the chipset and not the memory, we needed no setup when installing it in the Intel Z270 test motherboard, for example.

When we added up our scores, the Ballistix Elite 3466 MHz DDR4 Memory Kit managed to get into the “Recommended” category, and we are super impressed by this kit. We would recommend you think hard about a kit like this if you own an early X99 chipset motherboard, but anything else, and this is an excellent upgrade, though you will notice this less if you have 3200Mhz memory already.
