Noctua NF-A12x25 120mm Fan Review

21st December 2018 494 Like

The Noctua NF-A12x25 fan has been one of the most anticipated products to come from Noctua in recent times. We, like many of you were really eager to get our hands on the new design of fans and put them to good use. To Noctua's credit, they sent some over, along with some NF-P12 Redux fans (review publishing shortly). We have had these for a while now and decided a slightly different route for this review.

ASRock Z270 Pro4 Motherboard Review

18th June 2018 1842 Like

The ASRock Z270 Pro4 motherboard is a familiar site. ASRock is a familiar brand and since the birth of the ASRock company, it has secured a healthy and immediately identifiable place in the component market. With the recent launch of mainstream graphics cards, it's also clear that ASRock is looking for more. The Intel Z270 is getting on a bit now, and though it wasn't apparent at the time of launch, it has become a small part of Intel's chipset masterplan, with the release of the 3xx and other chipset models.

Noctua Chromax CPU Cooler Accessories Review

19th May 2018 426 Like

Noctua Chromax is probably one of the most awaited products from the premium cooler manufacturer. We've said in most of our Noctua reviews, the branding and colour scheme is a marmite issue, love it or hate it, you are basically stuck with it. Last year, Noctua released the Chromax range. A range of products aimed at anyone who loves Noctua, but hates the branding. Or even, maybe for those who love the branding, but want something a little more contemporary.

Noctua NH-U12S CPU Cooler Review

15th May 2018 678 Like

Here at Hardwaresalve, we have reviewed most of Noctua’s Intel CPU coolers from the recent generation of products. We had received a shipment of Noctua’s Chromax CPU cooler customer shrouds, fans and coloured accessories and took the opportunity to pick up an NH-U12S to test on its own and with the Chromax range. The Chromax review is coming shortly, we have a couple of Noctua CPU coolers that we used with the Chromax range, and provides a unique opportunity for Noctua owners, more on that soon.

Cryorig C7 Low Profile CPU Cooler Review

20th February 2018 454 Like

Cryorig has a CPU cooler for all the different Form Factor and TDP requirements out there on the mainstream CPU market today. They need to be considered mainstream themselves too, with big impressions in a short lifespan, and they’re still living up to promises and commitments. It’s fair to say we like them and would recommend any system builder looks at their lineup before making a decision on a CPU Cooler.

Noctua NH-L12S CPU Cooler Review

16th February 2018 1092 Like

For our first CPU Cooler review this year we have another Noctua product. We are going to have a look at the Noctua NH-L12S, the successor to the award-winning NH-L12. The NH-L12S is a low profile cooler with a 120mm fan, up from the 92mm fan on the NH-L12, four heat pipes with Copper (base and heat-pipes), aluminium (cooling fins), and soldered joints & nickel plating. It's aimed at the HTPC and Small Form Factor market, or even a Home Server if you need decent and quiet cooling.

Scythe Mugen 5 SCMG-5000 CPU Cooler Review

2nd September 2017 576 Like

Today we are reviewing the Scythe Mugen 5 CPU Cooler, the eighth revision of a Scythe mainstay. We reviewed the Scythe Mugen MAX CPU Cooler and it scored highly. We respect Scythe, they have been around cooling for enthusiasts from the very beginning of the modern worlds view of PCs. These days, if it doesn’t have any RGB lighting or rocket thrusters, it’s not up to date.

Anidees AI5S Windowed Mid-Tower Chassis Review

25th June 2017 494 Like

We’ve had a couple of Anidees chassis here at Hardwareslave for review in the past, and we really liked them. We are not just saying that because we receive review samples, but because of a couple of reasons, one of which is specific to the chassis we are reviewing today. Firstly, Anidees actively listen to feedback from enthusiasts, so, your idea may end up in a future product. Secondly, the AI5S chassis is a good example of the types of design they release. There’s no optical bay, so no cluttered front panel, and there isn’t even a space for it behind the front panel, so the chassis can fill itself with more important things, like radiators, fans, and high-end components.

Inkubus 300µ mITX HTPC Personal Cube Chassis Review

22nd November 2016 1020 Like

We have had a couple of unusual components at Hardwareslave but this one takes first place for unique. The Inkubus 300µ, a handmade, wooden mITX chassis designed to be the finishing touch in a high-end AV room, digital living room or even a sleek modern office environment, is not normally a chassis you can buy. Inkubus sent us over the Inkubus 300µ chassis without their build components to see what we thought and to feedback.

Lian Li Pitstop PC-T60A Open Air Test Bench Review

5th October 2016 723 Like

We’ve got a few semi-dedicated test systems in the office and a dedicated test bench, the MicroCool Banchetto 101 chassis. So, we swap components a lot if we want to use the Banchetto 101 chassis for any sort of sustained testing, like motherboard reviews. We have been finding a need for a completely dedicated test bench, enter the Lian Li Pitstop PC-T60A. Smaller than the Banchetto 101 chassis and only supporting mATX/ATX motherboards but supporting the same idea, an open air, configuration and accessible test chassis, designed for people who will always be swapping, testing and running PC components.

Scythe Kabuto 3 CPU Cooler Review

4th October 2016 496 Like

Another Scythe CPU cooler on the bench and this time it’s the Scythe Kabuto 3. We are not going to test this one on our usual X99 test bench, it’s not compatible, instead we will be testing it on an Intel 6700K CPU. The Scythe Kabuto 3 is another “Top-Flow-Design” from Scythe and another with their 120 mm PWM fan from the GlideStream series.

Lian-Li PC-K5WX Ebonsteel Mid Tower Chassis Review

1st October 2016 592 Like

We have a couple of Lian-Li chassis to review over the next week and they are both very different. Coming shortly, we’ll have the PC-T60 Test Bench which is a typical Lian-Li chassis, at least in materials used. In today’s review, we will concentrate on the Lian-Li PC-K5 Ebonsteel Mid Tower chassis, which is a very different Lian-Li chassis when compared to the history of their chassis releases, it’s an all steel chassis, for the first time. Lian-Li are not scrapping their aluminium range and going for steel materials, but instead aiming this steel range of chassis at budget system builders, even Lian-Li’s information on this series states “Steel Cases, Lian Li Quality, Excellent Value”.

Aerocool X-Predator II Full Tower Chassis Review

28th August 2016 651 Like

We haven’t reviewed an Aerocool chassis in some time, and we had a favourable experience with their products in the past, so we were happy to receive the Aerocool X-Predator II full tower chassis for review. The Aerocool X-Predator II is a large chassis, it’s also going to accommodate the E-ATX motherboards out there, such as the Asus Rampage Extreme V for example.

Anidees AI7 Black Cube Chassis Review

27th June 2016 494 Like

We reviewed the Anidees AI8 last week and it’s a stellar chassis, excellent for water cooling or anything else you want to put into an unobstructed internal space. Also, what looks to be a genuine principle of end-user feedback to help and evolve Anidees product range, means if you pick these guys up and become a brand fan, you may end up with some class leading products in the not too distant future.

Anidees AI8 Black Window Chassis Review

22nd June 2016 427 Like

You may have seen it all before, but if you haven’t, there are a lot of computer chassis out there, so which one do you pick? Firstly, you need to forget about your mates, or the flamers and trollers. For the latter groups, they are right about everything, so no matter what you do, it’s wrong. So where does this leave you? Requirements, including budget and style preferences.
