Scythe Kabuto 3 CPU Cooler Review

4th October 2016 3353 Like

Another Scythe CPU cooler on the bench and this time it’s the Scythe Kabuto 3. We are not going to test this one on our usual X99 test bench, it’s not compatible, instead we will be testing it on an Intel 6700K CPU. The Scythe Kabuto 3 is another “Top-Flow-Design” from Scythe and another with their 120 mm PWM fan from the GlideStream series.

Phononic HEX 2.0 Thermoelectric CPU Cooler Review

29th September 2016 4918 Like

Peltier extreme CPU coolers have been dabbled in for some time. In the past they generally were for the extreme overclockers, before things like dry ice cooling pushed Peltier into obscurity. It was a cumbersome, and seemed like an expensive compromise and only for the dedicated few.

We have the Scythe Fuma for review today, a CPU cooler Scythe claim to be a smaller CPU cooler without “sacrificing performance”. The Fuma can be traced back to the Scythe Mine 2 CPU Cooler, with development in two main areas, base plate design and fin structures.

AMD Athlon X4 880K Review

23rd August 2016 335 Like

In the realm of desktop processors it is no secret that the AMD gears have slowed down, cautiously preparing the up and coming ‘Zen’ microarchitecture. In the mean time, AMD remind us that those gears have not stopped with a...

Scythe, most people will know them. In case you don’t, Scythe have been around for years and they have a notable reputation in cooling, that means sites like Hardwareslave, will always take note of their products. We have a couple of coolers coming in the next couple of weeks and we start with the Scythe Ninja 4.

Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 480 8Gb Graphics Card Review

27th July 2016 8349 1

We’ve had our sample of the AMD Radeon RX 480 since launch day. With the issues around blowing PCIe ports and the promise of drivers to resolve this, we hung back a little and completed our full suite of benchmarks with the later driver, the Crimson 16.7.2 driver. We didn’t have two cards, so the chances of blowing our test motherboards ports are slim, the main difference was the promised performance increases.

Sapphire ITX Radeon R9 380 Graphics Card Review

We all see the numerous high end GPU reviews and builds, but how do the other half live, the ITX crowd? Either by choice or by necessity, they want something small and powerful, and Sapphire may have just helped those in need.

Reeven Coldwing Series Cooling Fan Review

10th July 2016 2101 Like

We had the Reeven Euros cooling fan review and we liked it, it’s a good fan and makes a difference to your system's airflow. Now we have the Reeven Coldwing series, namely the Coldwing 12 and Coldwing 14. Just like the Reeven Euros, there are several models in the range, we have the Coldwing 12 RY1225S15B-RP and the Coldwing 14 RM1425S17B-P.

Reeven Euros Cooling Fan Series Review

9th July 2016 1699 Like

There are a lot of components that make up a PC system, some of them are an obvious choice, Graphics cards, CPU etc., and some are not, for example, aftermarket cooling fans. Either for your chassis or if you want to add to your CPU cooler, cooling fans can be a bit of a mystery despite having only one simple task, to move air.

Phanteks PH-TC14S CPU Cooler Review

5th July 2016 3420 Like

We reviewed the Phanteks PH-TC12LS CPU Cooler and liked it. It has some good qualities at a good price and will give the owners of small form factor systems another good option for cooling their CPUs. We also received the Phanteks PH-TC14S CPU Cooler at the same time and have reviewed them pretty much back to back.

Phanteks PH-TC12LS CPU Cooler Review

Phanteks are probably more known for their PC chassis than for anything else, including their coolers. Phanteks have an extensive range of chassis and accessories for their chassis including a range of fans. The Phanteks Evolv is probably one of the most recognised chassis out there, and still gets a lot of coverage. If you look at the Phanteks site, they do have a range of CPU coolers, enough of them to get any system builder going.

Scythe Grand Kama Cross 3 CPU Cooler Review

30th June 2016 4123 Like

We welcome back Scythe to the Hardwareslave office with the Grand Kama Cross 3, a cooler with a bit of a difference to it. We haven’t tested a Scythe product since the Scythe Mugen MAX CPU cooler review last year and we gave that a good score, 4.4 out of 5 to be exact. So we were happy to get another one on the test bench and give it a good going over.
